In
1972,
JOB Cigarette Papers were introduced in the U.S.
The
packaging was largely inspired by the "psychedelic"
era, with the use of contemporary designs and numeric
styling . Immediately, JOB Cigarette Papers were an
incredible success in the States, thanks to the high
quality of the French paper, the variety of sizes, originality
of the packaging art, and the marketing and distribution
strengths of its U.S. importer, Republic Tobacco.
The
JOB brand trademarks of 1.0, 1.25 and 1.5 representing
styles were also unique to the JOB lines in the U.S.,
and continue to be so.
Today,
JOB is one of the most popular cigarette brands in the
United States. Republic Tobacco L.P. of Glenview, Illinois,
continues to be the exclusive U.S. distributor of JOB
cigarette papers and accessories.
